Poppy Hills Golf Course

Poppy Hills Golf Course

Pebble Beach, CA

The renovation of the Poppy Hills Golf Course began in March and lasted through October of 2013. This was a renovation of all 18 greens from the original RTJ2 design from 1986. Frontier was tasked with the reconstruction and relocation of all tees, bunkers, and greens (USGA). Frontier performed approximately 100,000 CY of earthwork to harmoniously tie-in the golf course grades with the natural grades of the surrounding Del Monte forest. We introduced native grass areas and natural sandy areas to reduce the amount of irrigated turf on the golf course and blend the golf course into the Del Monte forest. On top of that, we installed a 5” sandcap on all areas of irrigated turf to facilitate drainage, installed all new drainage network across the entire property, over 50,000 LF, and lastly installed an all new more efficient irrigation system on all 18 holes.
