The 18-hole renovation of Dorado Beach Resort's historic East Course began in November of 2010 and was completed in May 2011.  The work consisted of completely rebuilding all of the greens, tees and bunkers, as well as select fairway grading to unearth the "bones" of the original Robert Trent Jones Sr. design.

Drainage was a major issue that was solved by installing a new drainage pipe network across the entire golf course, including adding multiple basins.  The existing, outdated PVC irrigation system was replaced with a new HDPE irrigation system on all 18 holes.

As we had for previous projects in Puerto Rico and other locations in the Caribbean, we were able to offer the client the capability of harvesting native sand on-site and screening, blending and processing it to manufacture both the USGA spec. greens mix and the bunker sand.  This was a significant cost savings for Dorado Beach Resort and gave us the ability to control the quality and consistency of the materials.
